Employed since 1989 by South Hills Health System, a major hospital based health care group encompassing Jefferson Hospital, Homestead Hospital, and extended home care facilities. My current position is Senior Systems Analyst and Project Manager. I was responsible for the Year 2000 upgrade for all hospital information systems. My responsibilities included developing and maintaining the overall project plan, organizing programming and testing for approx 50,000 programs being upgraded, coordinating all staff involvement in the project, and providing management reporting. As a working Project Manager, I was also directly responsible for approximately 200 data base conversions and several hands-on programming and testing assignments.
I am also Project Manager for the following functional areas: Patient Accounting, Admission/Discharge/Transfer, Medical Records, Pharmacy, Clinical Care (Nursing) Medication Charting. Responsibilities include implementing new functionality (developing inhouse as well as installing packages), installing new system releases and fixes, evaluating and servicing user requests, providing functional management of programming staff, and coordinating Hospital Information upgrade efforts.
I also directly support the Pharmacy and Clinical Care Medication Charting projects for all aspects of system maintenance and enhancement.
