1 1-lb package linguine or other pasta of choice
1 jar prepared alfredo sauce
1 small can mushrooms (use quantity
fresh or frozen brocolli flowerets
Prepare linguine according to package directions. Save time by adding the brocolli flowerets to the linguine as it boils.
Toss linguine and brocolli with the alfredo sauce and mushrooms. I usually add the sauce directly from the
jar, then heat individual portions of the pasta dish in the microwave. You can also reheat in a casserole dish in the oven
at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Variations and Tips:
If you do not require a vegetarian dish, try these variations: Add leftover cooked chicken or ham, cut into cubes or bite
size pieces. If using fresh uncooked chicken, cut in small cubes then saute until done before adding to pasta. You can also
add small cooked shrimp or scallops. Or add extra vegetables, such as peas.
Another good variation is to add a
package of frozen chopped spinach. Use your imagination! I never make this recipe the same way twice!
