Dorothy's Six-Week Bran Muffins

Ingredients:

(1) pkg. raisen bran (15 oz size)
(1) cup melted margarine (melt in microwave)
(3) cups sugar
(4) beaten eggs (I just beat them in a bowl with fork)
(1) qt. buttermilk
(5) cups flour
(4) tsp. soda
(2) tsp salt
(1-1/2 cups of raisens

Procedure:

Measure and sift dry ingredients (flour, soda & salt). Mix with bran and sugar. Add remainder of ingredients (make sure margarine is cool when adding the eggs).

Mix ingredients all together so well coated. You can let it sit for a half a day or so before making the muffins, or you can make them right away.

Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Depends on how big you want to make them. Really "big ones" may take 25 minutes.

They are delicious!

Variations and Tips:

You can bake the whole batch and freeze what you are not going to eat. Or, you can make a batch at a time for up to six weeks. Just keep covered in the refrigerator for that period of time.
